What is the plot of “Transcension Academy “?

The story of Transcension academy revolves around a naturally awaken human Kim Seo-Joon but it all started almost 100 years ago from the present time when suddenly the sky started to rip open and dungeons started to appear all over the world and from these dungeons monsters came out and flooded the earth, only way to stop these monsters was the spacial humans with special abilities known as Hunters, humanity fought a war with monsters and successfully forced them back into the dungeons. After 100 years in the present-day dungeons, monsters, and hunters still exist, however, those special humans- the hunters, are not that special anymore with advanced science now anyone can become a hunter as long as they have money.

To regulate the number of hunters world government made it compulsory that every hunter has to join an academy and pass an exam to get a pro-hunter license. With a dream of becoming a pro-hunter one day, Kim Seo-Joon is working hard and saving his money so that he can join a hunter academy. However, after fate played its card he ended up joining a Transcension academy, an academy with faculties like Hercules, Chiron, and Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha). It’s the story of Kim Seo-Joon and how he became the strongest hunter.

The concept of Transcension academy manhwa is quite interesting, leveling system where the host (student in this case) grows strong after watching tutorials of some of the strongest and greatest mentors of human history, It failed in the execution part, however. Take a look at the few things that you may not like in the Transcension academy:

1. The Pace

Chapters in this manhwa are long, like 60+ pages per chapter type long, and due to this it sometimes feels like it is moving at a very slow pace, a single chapter covers so many things that it becomes really hard to remember everything and it becomes even worse if the chapter is an info-dumping chapter. So, if you are looking for a quick light read then you may want to skip this one, and if you are someone who loves to read long chapters then you can give this one a try as GeekWizard said earlier the concept itself is interesting.

2. The Art

After reading action-fantasy manhwas like Player Who Returned 10,000 Years Later, Is this hero for real? and Solo leveling GeekWizard things art work in Transcension academy is a bit minimal, world arts are very blended, fighting scenes don’t excite, there are rarely any ohhhh… moments, and one question that GeekWizard had in his mind the entire time while reading this manhwa was- Why characters don’t have eyes in most of the scene? yes, more than 50% of the time characters are missing their eyes, there is some good artwork in this manhwa too but as said earlier they are rare. But hey as they say Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you may love this type of art style who knows.

3. The Kim Seo-Joon

First, let’s put it straight, just because Kim Seo-Joon is on the list of things you may (emphasize on may) not like in Transcension academy doesn’t mean he is a bad protagonist by any means, it’s just that he’s a good fellow who just wants to watch tutorials, grow strong, and full fill his dream of becoming a pro-hunter he’s never been in a kill or be killed kind of situation before so naturally, he is not killing his enemies. The second thing is, he is quite weak, well he is stronger than most humans but in the world of hunters, he is a newbie. The story never said he will be an overpowered guy, it’s a story of Kim Seo-Joon’s hustle, and if you wanna see that you can try Transcension academy manhwa.
