What is the plot of ” Player who returned 10,000 years later “?

Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Harem, Romance, Manhwa

A story of love, hope, sacrifices, and struggle, a story where the whole world is against your love and blah! blah! blah!, nah! just kidding, Player who returned 10000 years later is a story of power, hell, earth, and above all Kimchi Jjigae(A S.Korean dish Pic in the conclusion section). The whole thing started in 2018 when all of a sudden our protagonist Oh KangWoo got sucked into hell, a hostile world that follows only one rule- Kill or be killed. Hell is a place in another dimension that has 9 layers the deeper one goes in, the harder it becomes to survive. After surviving for 10,000 years, and killing hundreds of thousands of demons and by consuming them Oh KangWoo became the Apex demon and the king of hell. The sole reason he kept going forward for 10,000 years in hell was his hope, his hope to return back to earth one day and eat Kimchi Jjigae, and now that he is the king of hell Oh KangWoo decided to return back on earth. Oh KangWoo returned after 5 years and it is 2023, the Earth he was once familiar with is now changed it’s more advanced and there are guilds, there are people with special powers called players. It’s a story of how the King of hell adjusts and grows even more stronger in this new environment ( and eats Kimchi Jjigae to his heart’s content ).

An isekai is nothing without truck-kun, a webtoon is nothing without good art, and a story is nothing without its characters. GeekWizard evaluates if a visual comic is good or trash after considering three factors :

  • Art– what’s the point of reading a webtoon if you’re not even liking its art? right.
  • Leads– They are called male lead and female lead for a reason and if readers can’t even like the leads they’ll simply going to drop the story and will move on.
  • Plot– If the art is good, and the leads are likable then the third element that differentiates gold from trash is the plot. The pace of the story, the wow moments, the mysteries, how many chapters readers are willing to hit the next chapter button, and above all, is the story delivering what it promised to the readers?

We have already seen how the plot is now let’s take a deeper look into the Art and Leads part.

1. Art

Oh, ohh, ohhh………ohhhhhhhh! That’s how the art of Player who returned 10000 years later is, from envious Demon king’s costume to awesome environment art there is nothing artists didn’t put their efforts in, you may not like how the protagonist behaves you may also hate the female lead, but, if you’re someone who really following and reading webtoons for quite sometime then you will definitely going to love the art section of this action-comedy manhwa (Note from the disciple of GeekWizard: you may hate the art of this manhwa and it’s ok, sect master GeekWizard has a habit of getting over excited, thank you please continue.)

2. The Protagonist

Demon king aka Oh KangWoo, he’s the kind of demon king we all wanted to see, he’s rational but not naive. Let GeekWizard put it straight, if you want a happy I give second chance/I’ll spare him just this once type of protagonist then just don’t read Player who returned 10,000 years later, click here and browse something else, but, for those who want to see what happens when you disturb demon king when he is eating kimchi jjigae then you can bookmark this manhwa.

Oh KangWoo is smart and calculative, and if somewhere in the story you feel like he is way too barbaric then you have to remember he spent 10,000 years in hell and survived, after spending such a long time in hell it’s impressive Oh KangWoo doesn’t kill anyone at sight. But, the demon king is not just a killer he’s a lover too and every time Oh Kangwoo is with Han Seol-ah you’ll see a completely different version of him, and all these characteristic of Oh Kangwoo makes Player who returned 10,000 years later an interesting read.

Summary

Oh KangWoo

  • He Kills so don’t worry if you are worried about if this protagonist believes in giving second chance or not.
  • He doesn’t discriminate, you’re male and pissed Oh KangWoo? he’ll unsubscribe your life. You’re female and also pissed Demon king? He’ll slap the life out of your body.
  • He gives lots of face-slaps (literally)
  • He’s no SIMP, although it’s shown he likes Han Seol-ah a bit but also knows she’ll hinder his growth and hence minds his own business.
  • He’s not slime kind of weak (Rimuru is the only exception), and not godly OP (till chapter 25).

Art

It’s beautiful, don’t worry.

Plot

  • There is a good amount of comedy and most of the time it’s not forced.
  • Romantic moments will put a smile on your face so don’t worry.
  • The speed by which the Story progresses is also decent, info-dumping chapters are not that boring, and there are enough mysteries to keep the plot running so you can binge-read it.
  • And yes there is Kimchi Jjigae in every chapter ;).

There is no right manhwa and no best manhwa, gold for someone can be garbage for others, and only a pencil for someone can be a weapon for someone, just like that a great read for someone can be total garbage for others. With that said if you have scored 3 or more in the above Q and A then you can give this manhwa a try, it will keep you entertained for a few hours.

Important talk: Be proud of what you read mangas, manhwas, manhuas, and WN/LN(s) are the beautiful gifts in this stressful life if you don’t want to read a certain type of stuff then just don’t read, read what calms your stress not increases it. Just because 3000 people liked it doesn’t mean you’ll too.

Happy Reading 🙂
